As a member of the Chapter of Management Schools within the Conference of Grande Écoles, ICN is one of the oldest business schools in France.

It was created by the University of Nancy and the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2003, the Nancy Commercial Institute became ICN Business School, a state-approved private higher education institution that is partnered with the University of Lorraine.

In 1999, ICN Business School founded the Artem Alliance with the Nancy School of Art and Design and Mines Nancy. This innovative alliance promotes the mixing of academic disciplines and learning, coupled with creativity and innovation, to train the next generation of decision-makers and creators.

ICN holds accreditation from EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB, and its Master’s in Management has been recognised as one of the best in the world by the Financial Times.

By offering an innovative, cross-disciplinary education, ICN Business School’s mission is to prepare students to become responsible professionals who possess the necessary skills to work in a global business environment. ICN Business School is involved in creating knowledge at the frontiers of art, management and technology, as a means of contributing to the development of usable knowledge and sustainable practices in the field of organisational management.

At ICN Research is at the heart of our activities. Our research addresses some of the most important and challenging issues facing business and society, advances management practice, and forms the basis for impactful engagement with business leaders.
Research also benefits our students directly: it ensures that they receive the high-quality education they deserve, and equips them with the skills and competencies they need for a successful career in an increasingly complex world

Research at ICN is rooted in the transdisciplinary philosophy of ArtTechnologyManagement. It is inspired by the idea that borders have become territories to be explored. An integral part of ICN since 1999, at a time when research was still in its early stages at the school, ARTEM has shaped the policy of faculty recruitment, particularly with regard to research behaviors and approaches. While culture cannot be managed directly, it can be nourished and encouraged by a consistent recruitment policy that allows for the creation of an innovative and unique spirit;

The University of Lorraine’s research laboratories are a cornerstone of the School’s research eco-system. Through them ICN faculty can connect to larger scientific networks and extended resources to engage in innovative joint research and the dissemination and transfer of results. The scope of research reaches from regional projects to multinational cooperation and also includes joint PhD thesis supervision.

90th School “General Hose de San Martin”

90th School “Gen. Hose de San Martin” in Sofia is a high school in the biggest suburb in Sofia – Lulin, with more than 800 students and a staff of more than 70 teachers.

– The schools’ vision for development is based on the values of tolerance, honour, and love for knowledge, cooperation and growth mindset.

– The school is a community centre and has a policy for “open doors” and parent-led events. It has a status of an “innovative school” given by the Ministry of Education and applies several educational innovations – project-based learning, JUMP Math methodology, students’ mentorship and an integrated STEM approach, aiming to create and apply a unique educational model of teaching and learning.

– The school works on an innovative programme in primary school which includes a unique timetable and some subjects, like “Fairy-tale world”, “Culture and History of Bulgaria”, “Environmental protection”. There is an energiser at the beginning of each day, a specific time for relaxing and reflexion.

– In secondary and high school we implement the so called “Big Questions”, which is an elaboration of a project leading to the answer of a question that is not usually asked at school, like “How would homes look on other planets?”, “How to take a cat to the Moon”, among many others. This year we had our first joint project with a school from Rosario, Argentina, in which we had the same question we had to create a product.

– The last 5 years the school has gone through a holistic school transformational process in which the entire pedagogical staff has been involved. Teachers are actively involved in the implementations of several big projects and activities:

– The creation of an innovative STEM environment and the preparation and training of the teachers on various topics related to an integrated method of teaching and learning.

– Elevating teachers’ ICT competencies has been one of the school’s top priorities. In order to help students be confident creators with digital resources teachers need to be digitally competent themselves, and for this means they have participated in constant professional development activities and training.

– The school has many ongoing activities supported by educational organisations and non-profits.

– Skills for team work – teachers plan collaboratively and reflect their pedagogical experience.
